Looking for some referral advice...we have a division in SE Kansas that would like to add an in-house District Geologist. They have always farmed this work out but this is our largest district, hence our most important one. Does anyone know of an individual who would like to hear more about this opportunity? We are growing by leaps and bounds, privately held and stable. Thank you for any referrals that you might be able to offer. Carrie C

I realize that I'm coming into this late, but wanted to introduce my self to you all. My name is Smiley and I've been recently given the task of organizing an Energy Channel. What I would like is to hear from each of you on your thoughts and ideas with such a concept. Several of you are currently working with companies that are spear heading programs on many different fronts. I'm open to communications and look forward to hearing your input. Smiley

Casing drilling is becoming a main stream technology in certain markets and air drilling has been around for sometime, although has anybody had experience with casing drilling with air?

Word is that Chesapeake is developing a new Rockies shale play. Anyone in the know as to how and where that is developing?

The most prolific gas producing basin in the United States is absolutely the Anadarko Basin with estimates around 100 TCF 1-3P, followed by Appalachian Basin with estimated of 60 TCF 1-3P.

Prolific for whom? Although drilling is costly and complex, most in the industry would agree that the most prolific gas basin in the lower 48 right now is the Fort Worth Basin. For example, according to a July 2007 article in the American Oil & Gas Reporter, Chesapeake leased land from DFW for $181 million and a 25% royalty.
